Resumo: This paper aims to explain the "just in time" production concept, as well as to analyze it as a method of operations planning and control. In addition, the purpose of this paper is to emphasize Kanban as a key tool to operationalize the planning and control system and how it can contribute to process efficiency. To obtain this information, the bibliographic review methodology was used. It was concluded that, in face of a scenario of evolutionary manufacturing competition, the Kanban is strategic and performs its function successfully.
