Resumo: Understanding social worker's wage discrimination is relevant to apprehend the socio-historical determinations of Social Work, a predominantly female profession, marked by gender inequality and socio-sexual division of work, imposed by capitalism and patriarchy. The objective of this study is analyze the professional devaluation from the salary discrimination of social workers in the selective processes and public tenders at Sergipe, between 2011 and 2021. We used quantitative-qualitative research, of the bibliographic and documentary type, having as main source the notices of selection processes and public contests, at Sergipe, in the mentioned period, with offers of vacancies for professionals trained in Social Work, in designated positions or not, as a social worker. Among the results we cite: of the total of 69 notices found, 50 are public contests and 19 are selective processes; being 57 municipal and 12 state. In addition, 61.3% of the notices offered one vacancy, in 69.9% of the notices the workload was 30 hours per week and 73.1% offered salaries between one and two minimum wages. In view of this, we observe that the profession experiences a process of social devaluation in the offer of jobs, whether temporary (selection processes) or definitive (public tenders).

In view of this, we observe that the profession experiences a process of social devaluation in the offer of jobs, whether temporary (selection processes) or definitive (public tenders).Compreender a discriminação salarial do(a) assistente social é relevante para apreender as determinações sócio históricas do Serviço Social, profissão predominantemente feminina, marcada pela desigualdade de gênero e divisão sócio sexual do trabalho, imposta pelo capitalismo e patriarcado.
