Resumo: | Several studies have been conducted using natural materials as fillers in polymeric matrices and many of them utilizes fillers from plants. The aim of these researches is to develop materials that have good mechanical properties employing renewable sources. In our work, we have investigated the influence of the styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) and coupling agents (graphitized polypropylene with maleic anhydride (PP-MA) and styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene graphitized with maleic anhydride (SEBS-MA)) in the mechanical properties of composites of polypropylene (PP) - heterophasic copolymer containing husk coconut. The composites, containing 20wt% husk coconut, with and without the presence of coupling agents, were prepared by extrusion and molded by injection. The mechanical properties were evaluated by tensile test, three point bending and impact strength IZOD. The samples were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). It was made by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of all samples derived from the impact test. The test results demonstrated gain properties in composites of PP with husk coconut with the use of coupling agents. It was found that the yield stress and elastic modulus of tension and bend tests presented better results was used graphitized coupling agent in polypropylene instead of graphitized elastomer in this case SEBS-MA. Formulations containing 2.5% of SBS, 2.5% of SEBS-MA and 5.0% of MA-PP showed the best results properties. For the impact strength property maleic anhydride in the elastomer graphitized performed better than the PP graphitized in this case 5.0% of SEBS-MA. The addition of husk coconut reduced the tenacity of PP, making it more brittle. |
