The present work is based on the experience of Curricular Internship I of the Social Work course in the Coordination of Work Management and Continuing Education of the Municipal Secretariat for Family and Social Assistance in the Municipality of Aracaju. The main objective is to analyze the importance of a continuing education, mainly, in themes that involve the intersectionality of Human Rights, for municipal servants. The research was carried out through historical analysis of Social Assistance in Brazil, through bibliographical and documentary research. For this analysis, a bibliographic and documentary historicization of Social Assistance in Brazil was carried out, also joining the critical view that the internship experience provides. The analysis unfolded from the qualitative axis through the approach of dialectical historical materialism. As a result, it was found that Continuing Education is one of the forms of societal transformation and the importance of defending sectors of Labor Management as a way to reduce the impacts of precariousness in the neoliberal structure and in professional relations.
