Resumo: INTRODUCTION: Biomimetic dentistry has the philosophy of restoring teeth mimicking life, using adhesive techniques. Thus, it is essential to conserve a greater amount of structure, good adhesion and greater longevity of the tooth and restoration. OBJECTIVE: to carry out a literature review on the use of biomimetic protocols in extensively destroyed teeth. DISCUSSION: the ferrule is the remaining coronal tissue and serves as a support for restoration, in addition to being a crucial factor in increasing fracture resistance and improving force dissipation. The use of a material with a modulus of elasticity close to that of dentin is important in preventing root fracture, such as fiberglass posts compared to metal posts. In addition to maximum adhesion, allowing the preservation of marginal integrity and prevention of detachment of the intraradicular retainer. CONCLUSION: the ferrule is essential in the longevity of the restoration, the use of an intraradicular retainer does not strengthen the tooth and must be used with more than 50% of the structure lost, and adhesion is a crucial factor in the success of the restoration.

Assim, é essencial a conservação de maior quantidade de estrutura, boa adesão e maior longevidade do dente e restauração. OBJETIVO: realizar uma revisão de literatura acerca do uso de protocolos biomiméticos em dentes extensamente destruídos. DISCUSSÃO: a férula é o tecido coronal restante e serve de suporte para restauração, além de ser fator crucial para aumentar a resistência à fratura e melhorar a dissipação de forças. O uso de um material com módulo de elasticidade próximo ao da dentina é importante na prevenção de fratura radicular como o pino de fibra de vidro em relação aos pinos metálicos. Além de máxima adesão, permitindo a preservação da integridade marginal e prevenção do descolamento do retentor intrarradicular.
