Imagens da docência na educação brasileira: do momento pré-colonial ao imperialista

Resumo: | This paper seeks to comprehend how the image of the Brazilian teacher is built from the pre-colonial to the imperialist moment. This is a qualitative research aligned with the History of Education, which focuses on written and bibliographical sources, checking possibilities. The images that describe the teachers are from pre-colony, colony, and empire. Considering these three moments, ruptures and continuities were identified. While the teacher from the pre-colonial era is a way of being detached from certain interests, the one from the colony is committed to the crown and to the church, constructed in the opposition. On the other hand, directed to new orientations, the teacher from the empire at times is like that of the colony, despite the expectations for him to be different. |

É uma pesquisa de cunho qualitativo, que se alinha à história da educação, retomado fontes escritas, bibliográficas, verificando possibilidades. A imagem que se descreve do professor é solicitada na pré-colônia, na colônia e no império. Considerando esses três momentos, percebem-se rupturas e continuidades.
