This paper presents a discussion about digital preservation applied in environments and/or cloud technology systems in SaaS (software as a service) modality. The Center for Entrepreneurship of the Federal University of Sergipe (CEMP) and the cloud software: Google Drive, space used by the organizational unit of the university to manage tasks, information, use resources and storage space made available by the technology was defined as the object of study. The work arises from the need to diagnose the phenomena that compromise the search and retrieval of information stored over 5 years. The general objective established to solve the problem defined for this work was: to analyze the Cloud Computing technology used in CEMP in order to identify the most appropriate strategy to enable the storage process, promoting the preservation of the documentary heritage. As a specific objective was considered: to verify the filing processes performed at the CEMP; to identify factors that prevent the reading of some files concerning the incompatibility with the system; to point out the causes of the multiplicity of documents and files in general and how these help to propagate the difficulty in retrieving information. The method used in the research had its matrix instituted as basic, exploratory and descriptive nature, to represent the results acquired, a qualitative and quantitative research was established; finally, for data collection, the notation and business modeling tool was defined: Bizagi Modeler. As a result, it was noticed that the techniques used to classify, organize, and access information are not standardized, making it necessary to establish standards for production, storage, and access. Consonant to the techniques used in the CEMP, the results pointed out that scholars and administrative technicians who perform the storage need training in document management, information management and document preservation in a digital environment. It is concluded, therefore, that the problems of information retrieval derive from the absence of standards and/or criteria for classification, selection and storage, the lack of qualified personnel to develop documentary practices, to develop documentary skills among the administrative technicians, as well as to train the fellows linked to the CEMP within their multidisciplinary learning journey.
