The use of renewable energy resources is gaining prominence all over the world, mainly due to the increased attention given to sustainability and to a possible lack of resources. By a bibliographic revision, the work has the goal to present objectively the countries’ actual scenery about the use of this kind of energy, giving wind and solar a bigger focus, since they are viable by use and they give environment a low damage. Brazil is one of the countries that is more concerned about this issue, developing a stronger and stronger alternative energy economy. Therefore, is possible that the world be independent of fossil fuels and start to treat Environment better.
