Objective: Characterize the blood pressure levels of teenagers from a private school of the Itabaiana-SE. Methods: It is about a descriptive and transversal study realized in the city of Itabaiana/SE, in which 63 teenagers in the age group between 10 and 17 years old, from both sexes, whose do not have congenital cardiovascular diseases, kidney diseases and diabetes. The data collect was realized in the period of January to February, 2017. The blood pressure measure was made using a sphygmomanometer and a stethoscope. The blood pressure measure was made before the morning and afternoon snack interval according to Health Ministry recommendations. The blood pressure was measured in two measures in distinct days, with an eight-day interval, averaging between the values found under the guidance of the Systemic Arterial Hypertension protocol for Primary Health Care. To the blood pressure classification was used the VI Brazilian Hypertension Guideline orientation, which classifies it as normal, prehypertension or limitrophe, arterial hypertension stage 1 and arterial hypertension stage 2. Results: The prevalence of high blood pressure levels in the teenagers studied was of 9,5% (n=6), while 7,9% (n=5) indicated limitrophe blood pressure and 82,5% (n=52) reported normotensive. Conclusion: The prevalence of systemic arterial hypertension presented within the Brazilian average.
