Geodiversidade e geoconservação do patrimônio geomorfológico do município de Jacobina/BA

Resumo: | In this aspect, geodiversity depends on the systemic recognition of places of geomorphologic interest. (LinGeo) and their relationship to human activities. The research had as a general objective to inventory the geomorphological heritage of the municipality of Jacobina/BA for the establishment of strategies for geoconservation of the Places of Geomorphological Interest (LinGeo's). To fulfill the established objectives, during the investigative process we adopted the theoretical/methodological principles of geodiversity and geo-conservation articulated with the proposal developed by Libout (1971), which defines the four levels of geographical research and directs the steps in a comprehensible sequence for the presentation of results. Thus, the methodological procedures in different phases followed the compiling, correlative, semantic, and normative levels. The inventory process followed by the demonstration of the rarity and potentiality of the environments in the face of anthropogenic actions and the natural, scientific and touristic functionality. LinGeo’s were properly ordered at levels of greatest need for geoconservation. The propositions signaled are practical, have a low economic impact, and can be readily accepted by the government, in addition to the installation of geoinformation panels that guarantee the community and tourists, a didactic understanding of the evolution and geomorphological configuration of each serial environment. The anthropogenic actions, especially highlighted by mining, tourism, and urbanization, have been putting negative pressure on the geomorphological systems of the municipality of Jacobina. In mining, there is evidence of the development of sequential erosive processes leading to soil loss, biodiversity impairment, and silting of the river channels near the mountains, besides the two tailings dams that promote a high risk for the urban population and the entire local morphdynamics, in case of rupture. Therefore, the inventory of the geomorphological heritage of the municipality of Jacobina is a key piece for the planning and ordering of the use and occupation for the current and future reality, given that the document produced, classifies the geomorphological environments that require greater care for their geoconservation. |

A pesquisa teve como objetivo geral inventariar o patrimônio geomorfológico do município de Jacobina/BA para o estabelecimento de estratégias à geoconservação dos Locais de Interesse Geomorfológico (LinGeo’s). Para cumprimento dos objetivos estabelecidos, no decorrer do processo investigatório, adotou-se os princípios teóricos/metodológicos da geodiversidade e da geoconservação, articulados com a proposta elaborada por Libout (1971), que define os quatro níveis da pesquisa geográfica e direciona as etapas em uma sequência compreensível para apresentação dos resultados. Assim, os procedimentos metodológicos em distintas fases seguiram os níveis compilatório, correlativo, semântico e normativo. O processo de inventariação seguiu a demonstração da raridade e potencialidade dos ambientes frente às ações antropogênicas e às funcionalidades natural, científica e turística. Os LinGeo’s foram devidamente ordenados em patamares de maior necessidade para a geoconservação. As proposições sinalizadas são práticas, de baixo impacto econômico e podem ser facilmente acatadas pelo poder público, além da instalação dos painéis geoinformativos que garantem à comunidade e aos turistas um entendimento didático da evolução e configuração geomorfológica de cada ambiente seriado. As ações antropogênicas, especialmente destacadas pela mineração, turismo e urbanização, vêm pressionando negativamente os sistemas geomorfológicos do município de Jacobina. Na mineração, isso se comprova no desenvolvimento de sequenciais processos erosivos, levando a perdas de solos, comprometimento da biodiversidade e assoreamento dos canais fluviais próximos às serras, além das duas barragens de rejeitos que promovem um alto risco para a população urbana e para toda a morfodinâmica local, em caso de rompimento.
