Resumo: | Introduction: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) correspond to a set of diseases that affect the heart and blood vessels and are the main causes of death worldwide. Phytic acid, a dietary constituent normally found in foods such as seeds, has been linked to pharmacological properties such as anticancer, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anticalcifying and antidyslipidemic. Objective: To evaluate studies on the effects of phytic acid on cardiovascular diseases. Method: The protocol was registered in PROSPERO (CRD42022322188). The main question of the review was: “What is the effect of phytic acid on cardiovascular diseases?”. The research was carried out through search strategies in four databases, namely: Pubmed, ScienceDirect, Scopus and SciELO from November to December 2021, without the language or year of publication. We included preclinical and clinical in vivo trials with phytic acid management in the treatment of cardiovascular disease, which had the risks of bias analyzed using the Syrcle and Revman. Two researchers independently one examiner of the data, and the researcher responsible for analyzing the discrepancies. Results: Eleven studies were selected and confirmed. From these studies, we showed that phytic acid had a therapeutic effect on cardiovascular diseases such as ardiovascular calcification and myocardial ischemia, as well as we verified that experimental and clinical studies were carried out in rodents (rats and mice) and humans, in several research centers around the world, In addition to some preclinical articles, there was a predominance of uncertain risk of bias and for clinicians, the predominance was low risk of bias. Doses range from 0.825 μmol/kg to 600 mg/person, via oral, intravenous, subcutaneous and topical administration routes. Conclusions: Phytic acid causes beneficial effects in vascular calcification and cardiac ischemia diseases, described in preclinical and clinical studies. These effects can reduce calcium and tissue levels, the generation of radical proteins and CPK and assay levels for better methodological rigor. |

O ácido fítico, um constituinte dietético normalmente encontrado em alimentos como sementes, tem sido relacionado à propriedades farmacológicas como anticancerígena, antioxidante, anti-inflamatória, anticalcificante e antidislipidêmica. Objetivo: Avaliar estudos sobre os efeitos do ácido fítico nas doenças cardiovasculares. Método: O protocolo foi registrado no PROSPERO (CRD42022322188). A pergunta norteadora da revisão foi: “Qual o efeito do ácido fítico em doenças cardiovasculares?”. A pesquisa foi realizada através de estratégias de busca em quatro base de dados sendo eles: Pubmed, ScienceDirect, Scopus e SciELO no período de novembro a dezembro de 2021, sem restrição de idioma ou ano de publicação. Foram incluídos os ensaios in vivo tanto pré-clínicos e clínicos com administração de ácido fítico no tratamento de doença cardiovascular, que tiveram os riscos de viés analisados usando o Syrcle e Revman. Dois pesquisadores de forma independente realizaram a extração dos dados, e um terceiro pesquisador ficou responsável por analisar as discordâncias. Resultados: Onze estudos foram selecionados e avaliados. A partir destes estudos evidenciamos que o ácido fítico apresentou efeito terapêutico em doenças cardiovasculares como calcificação cardiovascular e isquemia miocárdica, bem como constatamos que foram realizados estudos experimentais e clínicos em roedores (ratos e camundongos) e humanos, em diversos centros de pesquisa no mundo, além de que alguns artigos pré-clínicos aprestaram predomínio de risco de viés incertos e para os clínicos, o predomínio foi baixo risco de vies. As doses variaram de 0,825 μmol/kg a 600 mg/pessoa, pelas vias de administração oral, intravenosa, subcutânea e tópica. Conclusões: O ácido fítico causa efeitos benéficos em doenças cardiovasculares como calcificação vascular e isquemia cardíaca, descritos em estudos pré-clínicos e clínicos.
