Resumo: This article intends to show the situation of the various professional categories and unions in the year 1961 in the state of Sergipe through the newspaper Gazeta de Sergipe. We will disclose his claims, meetings, paralyzes, strikes, the positioning and actions of the State and that of the main press, using mainly the aforementioned newspaper, to deal with such matters and their position on such matters. The newspaper Gazeta de Sergipe will be used from January 1, 1961 to June 30, 1961, to which will be given the importance of the various working classes present in the newspaper. The article will analyze historians specialized in the theme and the period covered
