The waterway dimension of Brazil provides favorable conditions for use of ports on the country's logistics. Besides that, good infrastructure, diversification of products and/or services, low costs in transport and storage and government incentives will attract larger loads movements in public and private terminals. Faced whit this situation, this work has as general objective to analyze the current situation of the logistics infrastructure of the Inácio Barbosa Maritime Terminal (TMIB). In order to achieve the general objective, specific objectives have been developed to identify the existing infrastructure in the port of Sergipe, describe the logistics practices developed in the port, to verify the benefits that the port of Sergipe generates for the economy of Barra dos Coqueiros, to note the bottlenecks that impede the development of the TMIB and to point out the prospects for developmente of the port area. Thus, the representative of the Finance Secretariat of the Municipality of Barra dos Coqueiros, the commercial manager of Vale Logística Integrada and the port manager were interviewed. It is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive work and with a unit of analusis, the TMIB, for being the only port in the State of Sergipe. The result obtained through interviews and queries to the electronic websites was that the Barra dos Coqueiros has great possibilities of expansion for having a port area of 2 milion m², but there are no state and federal incentives to attract the installation of new companies in the retropot. Its growth prospects are focused on the construction of the Thermoelectric.
