Resumo: Aim: to identify the scientific evidence available in national and international databases about the nursing care for colostomy patients. Method: integrative literature review from articles in Portuguese, English and Spanish, published in the databases: MEDLINE, LILACS and BDENF in the last 10 years. The articles were selected and classified, through adapted instruments, according to their level of evidence and critical appraisal. Results: the search filtered five journal articles according to the purpose of the study, and classified them in 3 themes: main nursing care on colostomy; the nurse in face of the biopsychosocioespiritual changes of the colostomy patient, and the need for professional care training for colostomy patients. Conclusion: considering the lack of scientific production, new clinical studies, especially randomized controlled trials, are suggested to scientifically support nurses on decision-making.

Los estudios se clasificaron de acuerdo con el nivel de evidencia y rigor metodológico por medio de instrumentos adaptados. Resultados: se identificaron cinco artículos en la búsqueda sistemática, los cuales fueron distribuidos en tres categorías temáticas: principales cuidados de enfermería con la colostomía; el enfermero frente a las alteraciones biopsicossopospiraciones del colostomizado y la necesidad de capacitación profesional acerca de los cuidados con el colostomizado. Conclusión: En vista de la escasez de la producción científica, se sugieren nuevos estudios clínicos, sobre todo ensayos controlados aleatorizados, para basar científicamente la toma de decisión de los enfermeros.Objetivo: identificar a produção científica nacional e internacional relacionada aos cuidados de enfermagem ao paciente colostomizado. Resultados: foram identificados cinco artigos na busca sistemática, os quais foram distribuídos em três categorias temáticas: principais cuidados de enfermagem com a colostomia; o enfermeiro frente às alterações biopsicossocioespirituais do colostomizado e a necessidade de capacitação profissional acerca dos cuidados com o colostomizado.
