Resumo: In commercial poultry farming, the breeding and rearing phases are considered as the most critical period in the life of a flock, it is in these phases that the main physiological developments, skeletal growth, development of the digestive and reproductive tract occur. Also in these phases, vaccination, beak handling, selection of the lightest birds and weight control and flock uniformity occur. Another important factor in the creation of commercial laying hens that produce white eggs is the choice of the lineage, which must express its maximum genetic potential in any type of installation, whether in conventional cages or on the floor.

Também nessas fases ocorrem os manejos de vacinação, debicagem, seleção das aves mais leves e o controle de peso e uniformidade do lote.
