The symbiosis existing between the Chinese and the American economy is the result of the diffuse nature of structural power, which becomes less dependent on the direct action of the USA and more on the reproduction of other actors, such as transnationals. This unintentional connection ends up working as a way of expanding Chinese relative power and increasing the competitiveness of their firms. What is seen as a threat factor for the United States, which seeks to protect its market from the entry of Chinese transnationals and prevent the loss of leadership in the structure of knowledge. This work seeks to analyze this interaction between the two economies, setting a clipping in the innovation process as an instrument for maintaining and expanding power through competitiveness, by showing that symbiosis presents a vulnerability factor for both States.
