Resumo: This work, of a qualitative nature, seeks to reconcile the history and the importance of musicalization in the formation of young people and adolescents who are part of the list of students of the Conservatory of Music of Sergipe. Through a case study, it was tried to identify the necessary knowledge to the practice of the conductor of Choral Corner, having as object of study a group of the institution. Interviews were conducted and the questions that were listed to guide the research sought to detail the methodology used in the classroom for this type of learning. It was also used the observation and the informal conversation as source of perception for which this research was meant to investigate. The case study was carried out at the Conservatory of Music of Sergipe, an institution where choral singing practice is inserted in the children's music classroom, with students from seven to ten years old, as well as an extra class activity formed by a group of students from other age groups. We searched for elements to understand the current situation of music teaching and the importance of choral singing in childhood, in an attempt to contribute for the debate about the importance of the theme in the educational formation. In the class studied at the Conservatory, it is concluded that there is a concern with the level of learning and the methodology appropriate to the learning, as well as that the awakening of the musical sensitivity promotes the development of creativity, stimulates musical appreciation, amplifies the children's musical experiences and encourages practices that favor individual and collective expression, conquering children and shedding new light to the teaching learning process, stimulating the practice of socialization.

Através de um estudo de caso, procurou-se identificar os saberes necessários à prática do regente de Canto Coral, tendo como objeto de estudo uma turma da instituição. Foram realizadas entrevistas, e as questões que elencamos para nortear a pesquisa buscaram detalhar a metodologia usada em sala para este tipo de aprendizagem. Foi utilizada também a observação e a conversa informal como fonte de percepção para o que desejou-se investigar. O estudo de caso foi realizado no Conservatório de Música de Sergipe, instituição onde a prática de canto coral é inserida nas turmas de musicalização infantil, com alunos de sete a dez anos, assim como uma atividade extraclasse formada por um grupo de alunos de outras faixas etárias. Buscaram-se elementos para compreender a atual situação do ensino da música e a importância do canto coral na infância, numa tentativa de contribuir para o debate a respeito da importância do tema na formação educacional.
