The objective of the study was to map out violence against older people, to point out the types of violence that occurred and the forms of coping used by the Social Work professional, the Specialized Reference Center for Social Assistance - CREAS, in the municipality of Laranjeiras / SE, in the period from 2014 to 2015. At the methodological level, the choice was based on the qualitative method, which is an explanatory one. A bibliographic survey was made as a theoretical subsidy for the foundation of the research, highlighting the authors Faleiros (2007), Minayo (2005), Silva (2016). Field research was also carried out, having as subjects the Social Service professionals of the unit, using data collection interviews guided by a semi-structured script. In the results, there are reports of cases of violence against the elderly, where 19 records of violence against the elderly were identified, 8 cases in 2014 and 11 cases in 2015. As conclusions: it was seen that this is an act which has made the research relevant to the debate, giving rise to proposals to propose ways of combating violence more effectively. It is hoped to contribute through the data to broaden the reflection of both the social service professional and other areas, as well as the users. It is of fundamental importance to work on this theme, given that soon the world will have older people and their demands will need more attention.
