Resumo: The writer Caio Fernando Abreu (1948-1996) showed a great job in the literary creation, writing narratives beyond the literary movement that was part or the academy has understood. He exemplifies himself as a representative of the 1970 generation and his role as a short story writer who provided novelty in technique and literary creation. Of the writer's work, the presence of LGBTQI+ characters and human feelings stand out, as the predominant themes of his texts and promoting him the designation as “biographer of emotion”, in addition to the narrative focus as a cinematographic camera, dialogues and reframing. However, in this last sense of dialogues, there is a work to reception a culture or literatures. Following this path, the work sought to go beyond emotion, from the queer and social perspective, exploring a certain reception visualized in Caio Fernando Abreu's narratives, the classic reception. The purpouse is to analyze the writer's tales in na approach of classical reception, in how the narratives promote an reference to the culture of ancient Greece, the Greeks and Roman gods and other mythical beings, words of Greek origin, also texts and writers found in the writer's work. For this, it relied on the works published in life by Caio Fernando Abreu: Inventário do ir-remedíavel (1970), O ovo apunhalado (1975), Pedras de Calcutá (1977), Morangos mofados (1982), Os dragões não conhecem o paraíso (1988) and Ovelhas negras (1995).

Exemplifica-se como representante da geração de 1970 e seu papel quanto contista que proporcionou novidade a técnica e criação literária. Da obra do escritor, destaca-se à presença de personagens LGBTQI+ e os sentimentos humanos, como temáticas predominantes dos seus textos e promovendo-lhe a designação como “biógrafo da emoção”, além do foco narrativo quanto uma câmera cinematográfica, os diálogos e ressignificação. Contudo neste último sentido de diálogos, observa-se um trabalho de recepção a uma cultura ou literaturas. Percorrendo esse caminho, o trabalho procurou ir além da emoção, da perspectiva queer e social, explorando uma determinada recepção visualizada nas narrativas de Caio Fernando Abreu, a recepção clássica. Tem-se como objetivo analisar os contos do escritor numa abordagem da recepção clássica, em como as narrativas promovem uma referência a cultura da Grécia antiga, os deuses gregos, romanos e outros seres míticos, palavras de origem grega, além de textos e escritores encontrados na obra do escritor.
