The main objective of this work was to verify the evolution of the technologies aimed at risk protection, which is the essential element of Cyber Insurance. This type of insurance was created as a form of protection against the risks related to the use of technologies and especially of systems connected to the Internet, in order to restore the financial losses caused by these risks and, despite its importance in the current technological scenario , Is still very little known in the market. In order to achieve the objectives of this study, the technological prospecting tool was used, especially the use of patent documents as a source of information. The data were collected in the ESPACENET database using the key words in the title and in the summary: "cyber security" or "cyber insurance". In addition, we used the techniques of descriptive statistics, trend analysis, correlation analysis and comparison of nonlinear regression models with the purpose of making predictions and describing the evolutionary curve of patent deposits. Finally, it was concluded that there is a growing trend in the number of patents deposited over the years and also that, among the adjusted regression models, the quadratic model is the most adequate.
