Resumo: | Due to the water quality degradation of the providers springs for human consumption, water treatment plants (ETA) have increasingly used chemical products, as aid to the removal of substances present in raw water. Although there are ways and imposes obligations on the treatment of substances removed from water (sludge) to make it drinkable, the inappropriate disposal of this sludge can affect both the quality of the water as the natural environment of the source receiver. The present work aimed to capture water from the Poxim river, used for human supply in the city of Aracaju, and to add through the simulator equipment of the treatment steps, jar test, dosages of the chemical coagulant aluminum sulfate and the Natural Coagulant the vegetable tannin, in order to verify the efficiency of both coagulants, based on seasonal sampling. Over the periods of decanting of water in the jar test were performed on the analysis parameters, pH and turbidity, apparent color of the treated water and, with the aid of filtration, the same parameters were characterized. With the same dosage used in the jar test, it was also possible to determine the sludge volume due to the application of coagulants. The methodology was based on the analytical procedure developed based on the Standard Methods (2012), and the results of both coagulants were compared to the criteria established by Ordinance No. 2914 (BRAZIL, 2011). |

Embora existam formas e obrigatoriedades no tratamento das substâncias removidas da água (lodo) para torná-la potável, o descarte inadequado desse lodo pode comprometer tanto a qualidade da água quanto o entorno natural do manancial receptor. Assim, o trabalho objetivou capturar água do rio Poxim, utilizada para abastecimento humano do município de Aracaju, e adicionar por meio do equipamento simulador das etapas de tratamento, jar test, dosagens do coagulante químico sulfato de alumínio e do coagulante natural o tanino vegetal, com intuito de se verificar a eficiência do tratamento com ambos os coagulantes, em amostragens sazonais. Ao longo dos períodos de decantação da água no jar test, foram realizadas análises acerca dos parâmetros pH, cor aparente e turbidez da água tratada e, com auxílio da filtração, os mesmos parâmetros foram caracterizados.
