Arterial hypertension is a multifactorial clinical condition at risk for the development of several pathologies, mainly cardiovascular. The treatment establishes changes in lifestyle and pharmacological measures. Hydrochlorothiazide is one of the most prescribed drugs in the master and industrial formulation. The master sector has grown significantly in the supply of personalized and low cost medicines. Due to the industry's complexity in quality control of formulations, evidence shows that through simple control testing it is possible to qualify the product and make it safe and effective. The objective of this study was to evaluate the quality of master capsules of the antihypertensive hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg in samples obtained from three different pharmacies in the municipality of Lagarto/SE. The quality control of the magisterial capsules were evaluated through tests described in the Brazilian Pharmacopoeia 5ªed. (2010), being these determination of the average weight, disintegration, dissolution and uniformity of unit doses by the method of weight variation. The capsules handled by Pharmacy X were approved in the disintegration and dissolution test, for Pharmacy Y the capsules were approved only in the disintegration test, and Pharmacy Z the capsules produced were passed the test of mean weight, disintegration and dissolution, but none Of the pharmacies were within the pharmacopoeia limits established for the uniformity of unit doses through the method of weight variation. In this study it is possible to conclude that some pharmacies presented quality control and quality deviations in some Pharmacopoeia tests performed.
