Mascaramento de substrato dental, com uso de resina composta, em dentes manchados por tetraciclina - revisão de literatura com relato de caso clínico

Tetracycline is considered a teratogenic agent, and one of its side effects in early use is tooth staining. The clinical appearance of the teeth color can vary according to some factors, such as the administered dose, treatment time, and the period of tooth development during the use of the medication. This variation in color caused by tetracyclines is divided into degrees, thus being able to establish a diagnosis for each case. The appearance of the teeth as a result of the tetracycline use may generate great aesthetic discomfort for people who have their teeth affected by it. As a form of treatment, dentistry has some resources, including masking through veneers with composite resin, which is seen as a quick and minimally invasive intervention, in addition to the low cost compared to other techniques, as well as very acceptable aesthetic results. Thus, the objective of this work is to carry out a literature review on the masking of the dental substrate with the use of composite resin in teeth stained by tetracycline and to report a clinical case using the technique of direct veneers with composite resin. The study is descriptive, in the form of a case report of a 44-year-old female patient, diagnosed with tetracycline staining, grade III. It was concluded that the composite resin proved to be efficient for the treatment of tetracycline-stained teeth.
