Resumo: After the implementation of Law No. 11,892/08 that has established the scope of the federal educational system the Professional, science and technology Education Federal Network, there was a marked expansion of vocational education across the country. In these seven years the number of professional education institutions grew significantly and brought a demand for students who have opted for this type of training. It is observed that many of these students are in the age group considered by the Brazilian government as youth (15 to 29 years) and choose the Integrated High School, which brings high school vocational training. However the concept of youth has changed significantly from sociological analyzes such as Pierre Bourdieu. Nowadays it has been a stream of studies that opens the debate on youth. This thesis aims to analyze the role that students of the Integrated Secondary School at the Federal Institute of Sergipe on campus Aracaju attach to the school in building their future projects. It starts with the analysis of who is this young man, what are the causes that made him opt for this type of training and how to prepare their future projects. To meet this proposal five specific objectives of this work are: (01) Define IFS EMI students´ profile. (02) Identify and analyze the reasons that led them to opt for the IFS and the EMI model. (03) Characterize the expectations of incoming students and conclusive about the course. (04) Verify the understanding of the "young" students of the EMI on the youths. (05) Identify and analyze future projects produced by EMI students. The survey results point to a clear ignorance on the part of young people around the senses of the EMI, the result is not always personal choices, but made from outside influences. It was also concluded that there is no more in today's society a closed youth concept and that this paradigm has given way to the recognition of youth pluralities thus inaugurating the youths term that makes room for a new branch to the sociological debate. Finally, it was concluded that the role that young people attribute to the school for the construction of its future projects sums up the school as an obstacle, as a necessity imposed on them and that soon have to be overcome. The school serves these young people as an instrument that serves only to teach them a profession and help them gain a temporary career that will make up part of a larger project and consolidate a good university degree and finally the professional success and hence economic.
