Since the beginning of the installation of the human species on land, which is the same that always seeks a way of communicating, a fact evidenced in the ancestral paintings in several prehistoric civilizations. Over the years, with exponential population growth and development, several events have taken place in various parts of the world, events that move through social and popular manifestos that show the use of spray paint as a communication tool and shout of those groups. Thus, we aim through this research to evaluate the use of pixo in the city of Aracaju, Sergipe. Therefore, at first, we sought theoretical support focused on the area, as well as knowledge of aspects of the history of the graffiti path through documents such as texts in newspapers and other media. The second moment of this research comprised ethnographic research by immersion, where it was allowed to dive into the actions of the graffiti artists, having direct contact with them and observing how their actions and the relations between them are practiced. A research made it possible to understand “pixação” as a public art of social change, that is, that can be shown in relationships in places where the graffiti artists used to show. Therefore, it is not possible to deny the political/social potential or to execute performance in the urban space, placing it in a position against hegemonic ones that affect the standards and rules of discourse and a set of human relations rules above capital.
