Resumo: | The present work describes the way in which the learning of reading by the main character of the film "The reader" was studied, with the purpose of analyzing it from the perspective of new teaching methodologies stemming from advances in neuroscience and linguistics. One observes in the film a condition of literacy evidenced by the character, from the use of reading and writing in social practices, even without her being able to interpret the language code. Such factors contributed to Hanna's performance with the language system. The initial results show that the methodology adopted in the film, although not based on current models, proved to be efficient, due to the willingness and interest of the learner to overcome the obstacle of reading, for the full exercise of their citizenship. |

Observa-se no filme uma condição de letramento evidenciada pela personagem Hanna, a partir da importância que ela atribui à utilização das práticas sociais de leitura e de escrita, mesmo sem ela saber interpretar o código linguístico. Tais fatores contribuíram para o desempenho de Hanna com o sistema linguístico.
