Análise do processo de expansão urbana no bairro Jabutiana, Aracaju-SE, e sua influência sobre a qualidade das águas do rio Poxim

The advance of urbanization linked to the lack of adequate sanitation has been one of the main causes of environmental degradation process in the country. Water bodies, in particular, are one of the natural resources most affected by the disorderly growth of urban areas. In this sense, the objective of this study was to evaluate the intensification of this process in the Poxim River corresponding to the Jabutiana neighborhood, in the municipality of Aracaju-SE. The methodological procedures performed to achieve the objectives were: survey of secondary data on a study area, or which includes analysis of sampling campaign data, a final diagnosis or the current water body quality standard; photointerpretation of images purchased with Google Earth Pro; Impact matrix elaboration and summary diagnosis of the study area. Given the results obtained, it can be stated in relation to the analysis of pH, temperature and turbidity satisfactory characteristics were presented and within the standard values established by Resolution CONAMA 357/2005, in contrast, the concentrations of OD and BOD were in disagreement with the maximum values established by the same resolution, since they are directly affected by the large input of organic matter, from the discharge of domestic effluents without any previous treatment, and linked to the irregular disposal of solid waste and disordered urban occupation have caused significant changes in the landscape of the site, implying the need for stricter monitoring of the discharge of untreated effluents, in addition to the implementation of a sewage services network in the neighborhood.
