Autotransplante dentário: uma alternativa reabilitadora de baixo custo

Dental losses due to caries, gum disease and tooth socket trauma are still a serious public health problem in Brazil, and access to modern dentistry through rehabilitation treatments is still a reality in all Brazilian social classes. Regarding oral rehabilitation, there is no doubt that osseointegrated implants are among the best options, because they provide masticatory and aesthetic efficiency close to natural teeth, as a negative point, it is known that the costs of these rehabilitations are still high. So, dental autotransplantation, which is a surgical movement of a vital tooth; or endodontically treated; or dental germ, usually a third molar, from its original place to another of the oral cavity, presents itself as another oral rehabilitation alternative, presents success rates of 81% to 90%, low cost, being an alternative to osseointegratedimplants. The objective of this study is to present a clinical case of a patient treated with dental autotransplantation at the Federal University of Sergipe - Campus Lagarto. It is concluded that when the surgical, biological and patient health criteria are respected, dental autotransplantation presents high success rates, satisfactory functional and aesthetic results, avoiding and preventing occlusal alterations of the patients and becomes a low-cost rehabilitation alternative.
