Resumo: | This work proposes a solution, based on linear fitting, to the problem of bending of thin plates with small deflections. The purpose of this solution is to make the programming and manual calculation of bending moments and deflections easier than classical method equations and calculation tables. Furthermore, this solution was restricted to uniformly loadded and rectangular plates with clamped or simply supported edges. The values to make the fit was obtained by programing the Levy classical method with MATLAB® and the results were close to the values given by Timoshenko e Goodier (1959). The linear ajustment was made using the same programmimg language and the shape fuction was a polynomial equation of 3 rd degree with 4 variables. Furthermore, the values obtained by programming were compared with the coefficients in the Chust and Figueiredo’s (2014) calculations table. It was verified that the tabulated values were not the maximums, because they were always obtained in the middle of the plate. Therefore, it was produced a calculation table for each kind of plate with the maximum values. |

A finalidade dessa solução consiste em facilitar a programação e o cálculo manual de valores de deflexão e de momentos fletores em relação às tabelas de cálculo e às equações dos métodos clássicos. Além disso, essa solução restringe-se a análise de placas retangulares com carregamento uniformemente distribuído e com bordas engastadas ou simplesmente apoiadas. Em relação aos valores utilizados para realizar o ajuste, eles foram obtidos por meio da programação do método clássico de Levy utilizando-se o MATLAB® e os resultados obtidos aproximaram-se bastante dos valores fornecidos por Timoshenko e Goodier (1959). Destaca-se que o ajuste linear também foi elaborado nessa linguagem de programação e que o formato da equação utilizada para esse ajuste consiste em uma função polinomial do 3° grau, com 4 parâmetros. Além disso, também se comparou os valores obtidos por meio da programação com as tabelas de cálculos disponibilizadas por Chust e Figueiredo (2014). Nesse sentido, foi verificado que os valores tabelados não correspondem necessariamente aos valores máximos, e sim aos valores obtidos para o centro da placa.
