Resumo: | This article aims to investigate the multimodal-metaphor activation that comes from the discursive impact of actions and from ableism conceptions in relation to autism. Therefore, I adopt an approximation between Critical Discourse Analysis, guided by Fairclough (2003, 2006), the studies of conceptual metaphor, influenced by Fauconnier and Turner (2003, 2008) and by Vereza (2010, 2017), the multimodal metaphor, forwarded by Forceville (1988, 2009) and Sperandio (2015), and Interactional Sociolinguistics, in line with Goffman (1998 [1979]) and with Tannen and Wallet (1998 [1987]). Within the scope of qualitative research, the corpus of this research was generated from discussions with autistic people about a multimodal text published in the magazine Saúde, in 2019, through the WhatsApp app. The results show that sociocultural situated metaphors, instantiated in social practices that represent and identify autistic people as 'solitary', 'beings from another planet', 'blue angel', underlie the conceptual metaphor AUTISM IS BEING OUT, collaborating with the maintenance of the ableism in social structures. |

AUTISMO E METÁFORAS MULTIMODAIS: IMPACTO DISCURSIVO DE AÇÕES E DE CONCEPÇÕES CAPACITISTAS AUTISM AND MULTIMODAL METAPHORS: DISCURSIVE IMPACT OF ACTIONS AND ABLEISM CONCEPTIONS Autismo. Metáforas multimodais. Capacitismo. This article aims to investigate the multimodal-metaphor activation that comes from the discursive impact of actions and from ableism conceptions in relation to autism.
