Resumo: The Northeast region has 742 species of bryophytes, being considered the third largest region in terms of number of species. For the State of Piauí, 50 species, 22 families, and 29 genera are recorded. Due to the scarcity of studies on the Piauí's bryoflora, a floristic inventory of bryophyte species was carried out in the municipality of Corrente, Piauí, Brazil. Fifty species distributed in 25 genera and 18 families were identified. The list includes 11 new occurrences for the State of Piauí, being a new record for the Northeast region. Regarding distribution in Brazil, 24 (51.06%) of the taxa have a wide distribution, 11 (23.40%) have a moderate distribution, and 12 (25.53%) have a restricted distribution. The results represent an important contribution to the knowledge of the region's bryophytic flora, as it expanded and updated data regarding the geographic distribution of several species.

Debido a la escasez de estudios sobre la brioflora del estado, se realizó un inventario florístico de especies de briofitas en el municipio de Corrente, Piauí, Brasil. Fueron identificadas 50 especies, distribuidas en 25 géneros y 18 familias. La lista incluye 11 nuevas ocurrencias para el estado de Piauí, una de las cuales es un nuevo registro para la región Nordeste. En términos de distribución en Brasil, 24 (51,06%) de los taxones tienen una distribución amplia, 11 (23,40%) tienen una distribución moderada y 12 (25,53%) tienen una distribución restringida. Los resultados representan una importante contribución al conocimiento de la flora briofítica de la región, ya que han ampliado y actualizado los datos sobre la distribución geográfica de varias especies.A região Nordeste apresenta 742 espécies de briófitas, sendo considerada a terceira maior região em número de espécies. Para o estado do Piauí, são registradas 50 espécies, 22 famílias e 29 gêneros. Devido à escassez de estudos sobre a brioflora do estado, foi realizado um inventário florístico das espécies de briófitas no município de Corrente, Piauí, Brasil. Foram identificadas 50 espécies distribuídas em 25 gêneros e 18 famílias. A lista inclui 11 novas ocorrências para o estado do Piauí, sendo um novo registro para a região Nordeste. Em relação à distribuição no Brasil, 24 (51, 06%) dos táxons têm distribuição ampla, 11 (23, 40%) têm distribuição moderada e 12 (25, 53%) têm distribuição restrita.
