Resumo: | The FLORAS Botanical Garden (JBFLORAS) was installed in the Sosígenes Costa campus (CSC) of the Federal University of Southern Bahia and has a remnant of Mata Atlântica. The goal was to characterize a remnant of vegetation of the area from its flora and physiognomy. The plants were collected at fertile stage during the period from 2015 to 2018. A total of 193 species were registered, distributed in 142 genera and 53 families of angiosperms, being Leguminosae (34 spp.), Asteraceae (11 spp.), Malvaceae (10 spp.), Euphorbiaceae (9 spp.), Poaceae and Rubiaceae (8 spp. each) the more diverse. Fifteen endemic species of the Atlantic Forest were found, Cranocarpus mezii Taub. (Leguminosae) being restricted to the south of Bahia and northern Espírito Santo. Four species are threatened with extinction: the Brazilian jacaranda, the jaguar, the brazilwood and the pink cedar. The remnant of the CSC-JBFLORAS is a Dense Ombrophilous Lowland Forest or Tray Forest and has a characteristic flora. It is recommended the conservation of the remnant, due to its floristic peculiarities. |

Se objetivó caracterizar un remanente de vegetación del área a partir de su flora y fisonomía. Las plantas se recolectaron en estado fértil durante el período de 2015 a 2018. Se registraron 193 especies, distribuidas en 142 géneros y 53 familias de angiospermas, siendo Leguminosae (34 spp.), Asteraceae (11 spp.), Malvaceae (10 spp.), Euphorbiaceae (9 spp.), Poaceae y Rubiaceae (8 spp. cada), las más diversas. Se encontraron 15 especies endémicas de la Mata Atlántica, es Cranocarpus mezii Taub. (Leguminosae) restringida al sur de Bahía y norte de Espírito Santo. Cuatro especies están amenazadas de extinción: el jacarandá-da-bahia, la juçara, el palo-brasil y el cedro-rosado. El remanente del CSC-JBFLORAS es un Bosque Ombrófilo Denso de las Tierras Bajas o Bosque de los Tableros y posee una flora característica. Se recomienda la conservación del remanente debido a su peculiaridad florística.Le Jardin botanique FLORAS (JBFLORAS) a été installé sur le campus de Sosígenes Costa (CSC) de l'Université fédérale du sud de Bahia et abrite des vestiges de Mata Atlântica. L'objectif était de caractériser des vestiges de végétation de la région par sa flore et par sa physionomie. Les plantes ont été collectées au stade fertile au cours de la période allant de 2015 à 2018. 193 espèces ont été identifiées, réparties dans 142 genres et 53 familles d'angiospermes, à savoir Leguminosae (34 espèces), Asteraceae (11 espèces), Malvaceae (10 espèces), Euphorbiaceae (9 espèces), et des Poaceae et Rubiacea les plus diversifiées. Quatre espèces sont menacées d'extinction. Il s’agit de 15 espèces endémiques de la forêt atlantique, dont la Cranocarpus mezii (Leguminosae) qui se restreint au sud de Bahia et au nord d'Espírito Santo. Le reste de la CSC- JBFLORAS est une forêt de plaine ombrophile dense des terres basses ou une forêt de plateaux et elle possède une flore caractéristique. Quatro espécies estão ameaçadas de extinção e 15 espécies são endêmicas da Mata Atlântica, com Cranocarpus mezii Taub. (Leguminosae) restrita ao sul da Bahia e norte do Espírito Santo. O remanescente do CSC-JBFLORAS é uma Floresta Ombrófila Densa das Terras Baixas ou Floresta dos Tabuleiros e possui flora característica.
