This text aims to explain the working logic of the complex agro-industrial system in the production of food merchandise and its relationship with hunger in Capitalism. In the methodological aspect it is a bibliographical research. Throughout the text, we seek to demonstrate how the appropriation of capital in food occurs from the occupation of the soil, the ownership of land, which necessarily involves the expulsion of peasant families from the countryside. And we will reconstruct the logic of the food-commodity production chain with the ramifications of the complex agro-industrial food system. We will seek to demonstrate that this form of food production, aimed at valuing capital even if it produces food, will generate hunger, as it results in food devoid of nutrients, an agriculture with diversity restricted by monoculture, overloaded with chemicals that cause cancer, among others. other health problems and do not fulfill the function of feeding human beings. In short, they feed hunger.
