Since the 18th century, rational control of impulses and aggressive acts, has been considered as one of the synonyms of civilization. History shows us that manifestations of violence have had peculiar characteristics in each age, in which the most barbaric and cruel forms coexisted with its more subtle forms. Studies in different are as have shown that the violence occurring in urban centers and within the family circle has increasingly become a potential due to various factors of a social nature, such as poverty, unemployment, social exclusion, drug consumption orde a ling, alcoholism, overcrowded conditions in big cities, etc. Considering the different manifestations of violence, it is evident that the motives are not always conscious, and that there are motives of an unconscious nature that can explain many human acts, casting a light on this subject, which is considered to be one of great complexity.
