Resumo: This article main goal is to contribute to the visibility of the academic-militant trajectory and the intellectual legacyof Lélia Gonzalez, seeking to present contributions to the advancement and maturation of the ethnic-racial debate in the SocialWork professional formation. It is assumed that Lélia’s broad intellectual background, given its relevance to the BrazilianBlack Movement and to critical social thought, has fundamental contributions to the understanding of racism and sexism andthe forms of resistance organized against it in the Brazilian particularity, enabling the apprehension of key categories for theeffective and transversal incorporation of the ethnic-racial debate into the Social Work formation.

Parte-se da hipótese que a ampla bagagem intelectual de Lélia, dada sua relevância para o Movimento Negro brasileiro e para o pensamento social crítico, possua contribuições fundamentais para a compreensão do racismo e do sexismo na particularidade brasileira e, das formas de resistências organizadas ante a eles, possibilitando a apreensão de categorias-chave para a incorporação efetiva e transversal do debate étnico-racial à formação em Serviço Social.
