Resumo: | Through a comparative perspective between the experiences of Brazil and Chile, this article analyzes to what extent center-left administrations constituted a political opportunity to advance in ensuring women’s rights through the institutional spaces. To this end, it focuses on the relations established between feminisms and State during the so-called ‘progressive cycle’ in Latin America, mainly through the national women’s policies agencies. In both contexts, center-left governments have contributed to develop policies for women at national level, but in different ways – in Brazil with a participatory model and the evident approximation between feminisms and the State and in Chile with a technocratic model, as part of a gender mainstreaming or State modernization process, engendering also different outcomes. |
