Resumo:  The feminine psyche conceived from the biotypological version of eugenics, of high impact in Argentina since the 1930s, recognizes a significant influence of the theories of two renowned European endocrinologists, the Italian Nicola Pende and the Spanish Gregorio Marañón. Starting from succinctly recovering the local reception of their theses, this work sustains that this look, endowed withclaims of scientificity, strengthened already existing prejudices regarding the differences between men and women, a place from which it was intended to legitimize, by the way, traditional gender roles, establishing women as wife and mother
