Resumo: In The Origins of Totalitarianism, when examine the elements and origins of total domination, Hannah Arendt devotes special attention to the political emancipation of the bourgeoisie. For Arendt imperialism is the truth of the bourgeois understanding of politics, according to which politics should not be more than a well-organized police force. The truth of bourgeois politics is the reduction of politics to mere force. Our purpose is to reconstruct this movement from the vantage point of arendtian appropriation of Hobbes, "the true philosopher of the bourgeoisie."

Para Arendt el imperialismo es la verdad de la comprensión burguesa de la política, según la cual la política no debe ser más que una fuerza policial bien organizada. La verdad de la política burguesa es la reducción de la política a la mera fuerza. Nuestro propósito es reconstruir esta ruta desde el punto de vista privilegiado de la apropiación arendtiana de Hobbes, "el verdadero filósofo de la burguesía." Em As origens do totalitarismo, quando examina os elementos e origens da dominação total, Hannah Arendt dedica especial atenção à emancipação política da burguesia. Para Arendt o imperialismo é a verdade da compreensão burguesa da política, consoante a qual a política não deve ser mais que uma força policial bem organizada. A verdade da política burguesa é a redução da política a mera força.
