Collective research and rural development: a proposal for knowledge generation

Resumo: This article aims to propose a reflection on the potential of collective research approach to processes related to the rural development. These collectives are understood as research communities where different social actors interact aiming knowledge generation, overcoming physical, institutional, methodological and epistemological barriers. This proposal takes part in the debate on the public sector role in the research and innovation development, and also about the participation of 'non-academic' actors in scientific development. The basic idea is to build collective forms of working, jointing private and universities in common operations. Rural development when designed as a non-interventionist process is repositioning the knowledge importance. Thus, the proposal of the collective research may be emerging as an interesting new arrangement between social actors present or related to rural, and favoring localized and contextualized innovative processes.

Estos colectivos son entendidos como comunidades de investigación donde diversos actores sociales interactúan hacia la generación de conocimiento, transponiendo barreras físicas, institucionales, metodológicas y epistemológicas. Esa propuesta hace parte de un debate sobre el rol del sector público en el desarrollo de investigación e innovación, y también sobre la participación de actores ‘no académicos’ en el desarrollo científico. La idea básica es constituir formas colectivas de trabajo, donde la iniciativa privada gana relevancia en actuaciones conjuntas con las universidades. El desarrollo rural pensado de forma no intervencionista replantea la importancia del conocimiento. Así, la propuesta de los colectivos de investigación puede estar emergiendo como un interesante nuevo arreglo entre los actores sociales presentes o relacionados al rural, favoreciendo procesos innovadores localizados y mejor contextualizados.Este artigo objetiva propor uma reflexão sobre o potencial da abordagem de coletivos de pesquisa em processos relacionados ao desenvolvimento rural. Os coletivos são entendidos como comunidades de pesquisa, em que diversos atores sociais interagem na geração do conhecimento, que transpõem barreiras físicas, institucionais, metodológicas e epistemológicas. Esta proposta faz parte de um debate sobre o papel do setor público no desenvolvimento da pesquisa e inovação, assim como sobre a participação de atores “não acadêmicos” no desenvolvimento científico. A ideia básica é constituir formas coletivas de trabalho, em que a iniciativa privada ganha relevância em uma atuação conjunta com universidades. O desenvolvimento rural, desconsiderando a forma não intervencionista, reposiciona a importância do conhecimento.
