Resumo: Inserted in the debate about the 15th anniversary of the formalization of Mercosur, this paper analyses the integration process of Mercosur under the perspective of the two main trade-partners, Argentina and Brazil, aiming to review some topics that allow the characterization of the evolution and the block performance in its political, economic and institutional dimensions. This paper stresses the international relations focus in the discussion of the constructive process of the Mercosur regional integration, aiming to identify the economic and the political strategies that explain the spatial logics and relations of power between Argentina and Brazil that constantly reshape the block. Through this discussion assistance is supplied to warrantee plurality and depth for the debate about the rough paths of evolution of the Mercosur integration and the dilemmas lately faced by Argentina and Brazil, taking as granted the possibility to better understand the real situation and the problems that the integration process faces for a renew.

El estudio tiene por objetivo introducir la ótica de las relaciones internacionales en la discusión sobre el proceso de construcción de la integración regional del Mercosur, a fin de identificar las estrategias económicas y políticas que definen las relaciones y lógicas espaciales de poder entre Argentina y Brasil, que redibujan constantemente los contornos del bloco. Con esta discusión se pretende fornecer subsidios adecuados, que contribuyan con la pluralidad y el aprofundamiento del debate, sobre los tortuosos caminos de evolución de la integración del Mercosur y los dilemas actualmente enfrentados por Argentina y Brasil, para posibilitar la mejor comprensión de la situación actual y de los problemas que el esquema de integración enfrenta con vistas a su posible revitalización.Inserido no debate dos 15 anos de formalização do Mercosul, o trabalho analisará o processo de integração do Mercosul sob a perspectiva dos dois principais parceiros comerciais, Argentina e Brasil, com o objetivo de fazer uma revisão sobre alguns tópicos que permitam caracterizar a evolução e performance do bloco nas suas dimensões política, econômica e institucional. O estudo objetiva introduzir a ótica das relações internacionais na discussão sobre o processo de construção da integração regional do Mercosul, a fim de identificar as estratégicas econômicas e políticas que definem as relações e lógicas espaciais de poder entre a Argentina e o Brasil, que redesenham constantemente os contornos do bloco.
