Resumo: The paper presents a reflection on Sustainable Development, starting from the crisis between the concepts of growth and development, leading to the unsustainable reality of the current market and consumption logic until proposing an alternative: the path of Degrowth and frugal abundance. Negative alternatives, such as reduction or negative growth, are not proposed here to solve the problems presented, even if they are to be denied, but it proposes the need for conscious and realistic reflection and action on the catastrophic reality towards which humanity is going. Through analytical reflections and economic analyses, the article is built upon an interpretative perspective and on the economic critique that seeks a real and conscious Sustainable Development.

No se proponen aquí alternativas negativas, como de reducción o crecimiento negativo, para solucionar las problemáticas presentadas, aun cuando las mismas no sean negadas, pero se propone la necesidad de reflexión y acción conscientes y realistas sobre la realidad catastrófica por la que la humanidad está caminando. Por medio de investigación bibliográfica, el artículo se construye en la perspectiva interpretativa y en la crítica económica que buscan un Desarrollo Sostenible real y consciente.O artigo, ambientado em material empírico de comunidades quilombolas no Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul, apresenta reflexão sobre Desenvolvimento Sustentável, partindo da crise entre os conceitos crescimento e desenvolvimento, desembocando na realidade insustentável da atual lógica de Mercado e consumo até propor uma alternativa: a via do Decrescimento e da abundância frugal. Não se propõem aqui alternativas negativas, como de redução ou crescimento negativo, para solucionar as problemáticas apresentadas, mesmo que as mesmas não sejam negadas, mas propõe-se a necessidade de reflexão e ação conscientes e realistas sobre a realidade catastrófica da qual a humanidade está caminhando.
