Aesthetics and psychoanalysis: for a criticism of modernity

Resumo: The present article intends to cover some foundations of the study of aesthetics, developed at the core of modernity as an academic discipline and as theoretical basis of art criticism. Prepared by romanticism, was subsequently adopted by psychoanalysis. In Freud and in the philosophy of Nietzsche we can observe - as we will try to demonstrate - its privileged function in support of a cultural criticism. This is because, while privileged locus of expression of the tension between pathos and logos, it is in aesthetics that the psychoanalysis finds the main certification of the paradoxes of a culture allegedly seated in self-awareness.

Elaborada por el romanticismo, fue después adoptada por el psicoanálisis. En la obra freudiana y en la filosofía de Nietzsche se puede observar - como trataremos de demostrar - su función privilegiada en la sustentación de una crítica cultural. Eso porque, mientras locus privilegiado de la expresión de la tensión entre logos y pathos, es en la estética que el psicoanálisis encuentra el principal testimonio de las paradojas de una cultura que se pretende asentada en la conciencia de si mismo.O presente artigo se propõe a fazer um percorrido sobre alguns fundamentos do estudo da estética, desenvolvida no cerne da modernidade como disciplina acadêmica e como base teórica da crítica da arte. Elaborada pelo romantismo, foi, na sequência, adotada pela psicanálise. Na obra freudiana e na filosofia de Nietzsche podemos observar – como buscaremos demonstrar – sua função privilegiada na sustentação de uma crítica cultural.
