Resumo: During winter in the North of São Paulo State four nursery systems for Macrobrachium rosenberguii prawn were evaluated. Newly-metamorphosed post larvae were stoched in four different nursery systems: Two indoor and two outdoor. The indoor nursery was constituted of the fiber cemente cages with addition of the fiber cemente cages with addition of substrates and aeration and they were stocked with densities of 5,500 and 6,300 prawns. M -³ respectively and one of them have a hearer. Eight concrete tanks covered by a greenhouse and an earthen pond without cover constituted the outdoor nurseries.  The juvenile prawns were harvested after 35 to 65 days.  Prawn growth in winter nurseries without an efficient heating system was extremely reduced.  Their weight ranged from 30 to 300 mg. The juvenile production costs ranged from US$ 34,00 to US$ 106,00. The outdoor nursery system using earthen pond was more suitable, with higher survival and lower costs.

The outdoor nursery system using earthen pond was more suitable, with higher survival and lower costs.Quatro sistemas de berçário para camarões Macrobrachium rosenberguii operados durante o inverno na região norte do estado de São Paulo foram avaliados.  Pós – larvas recém metamorfoseadas foram estacadas em dois tipos de berçários internos e dois externos.  No sistema interno utilizou se, inicialmente, 2 tanques de fibrocimento providos de substratos artificiais, aeração e circulação continua  de  água, denominados Ensino I e II, sendo que no primeiro instalou se um aquecedor.  Estes foram estocados com densidades de 6.500 ind. M-³ , respectivamente. Os berçários externos contaram de um  conjunto de 8 tanques de alvenaria  cobertos por uma estufa, denominado Ensaio  III, e de um viveiro com fundo  natural, sem cobertura, denominado Ensaio IV, provido com circulação continua de água. Estes foram estocados em densidade de 1.125 ind. m -³ e 122 ind.m -³, respectivamente. O período de duração dos cultivos variou de 35 a 65 dias.  O crescimento dos camarões nos berçários de inverno sem um sistema de aquecimento eficiente foi bastante reduzido, variando de 30 a 300 mg.
