Resumo: The fecundity of ovigerous females of M. acanthurus collected at the Capivari River - Florianópolis/SC, in the period of February-1989 to July-1990 was studied. The mean individual fecundity was estimated and its relations to the lenght and weight were stablished. The adjusted equations which express the relations: fecundity total lenght and fecundity/total weight were: F=-4709,0+1061,3L and F=-290,6+705,4W.
