Resumo: | Behavioral aspects underlying the current methods of controlling endemic diseases (such as malaria, filariassis, leishmaniosis, schistomiasis and trypanosomiasis) are anlysed in this review. Based on currently available control studies, a comprehensive analysis on how much behavior has been neglected and how an ethological approach could be more useful for the understanding of the whole problem has been carried out. The human interference on causal stimuli which induce vector activity for the decrease of diseases and the possible ways to control them through manipulation has been stressed. |

.Controle das doenças endêmicas através da manipulação comportamentalBehavioral aspects underlying the current methods of controlling endemic diseases (such as malaria, filariassis, leishmaniosis, schistomiasis and trypanosomiasis) are anlysed in this review.
