Resumo: A great of part   of the expressive movements of rhesus monkeys seems to be devoted to the organization of social behavior of the group, specially to dominance and subordination. In the “open mouth threat”, the mouth corners are drawn forward and the lips are pressed against  the teeth, which are not exposed. The animal stands with its tail high, looking directly to the opponent. In the “fear grimace”, The corners of the mouth are drawn back, exposing the  teeth. The animal places the  tail between the legs and  looks away from the opponent. Dominance and submission expressive movements are antithetical.

Dominance and submission expressive movements are antithetical.
