Know-how at Work of Airport Agents in the Light of the Notion of Knowing-in-Practice

Resumo: The association of knowledge at work only with formal education provides a hierarchy of knowledge. In order to value the different types of know-how that involves work, the study sought to analyze the work configuration and the articulation of the know-how of airport agents in the light of the notion of knowing-in-practice. The method was constructed based on ethnographic techniques, such as participant observation, informal interviews and archival research. The understanding of know-how was made possible by observations in the field when looking at the body of knowledge required at work; the requirement for qualification in its exercise; and its role in the insertion of new agents in action. The information collected shows that work practices, although strongly regulated and standardized, can be successively changed and, from there, new know-how and practices are based on an ethical, aesthetic and emotional judgment, inserted in the context of situated work.

Para valorar los diversos conocimientos que involucran el trabajo, el estudio buscó analizar la configuración del trabajo y la articulación de conocimientos de los agentes aeroportuarios a la luz de la noción de saber en la práctica. El método se construyó con base en técnicas etnográficas, como la observación participante, entrevistas informales e investigación de archivos. La comprensión de los conocimientos fue proporcionada por las observaciones de campo al prestar atención al cuerpo de conocimientos requerido en el trabajo; la exigencia de cualificación en su ejercicio; y su papel en la inserción de nuevos agentes en acción. Las informaciones recogidas muestran que las prácticas de trabajo, aunque fuertemente reguladas y estandarizadas, pueden ser modificadas sucesivamente y, a partir de ello, se constituyen nuevos conocimientos y prácticas basados ??en un juicio ético, estético y emocional, insertados en el contexto del trabajo situado.A associação do conhecimento no trabalho apenas com a educação formal propicia uma hierarquização do conhecimento. A fim de valorizar os diversos saberes que envolvem o trabalho, o estudo buscou analisar a configuração do trabalho e a articulação dos saberes dos agentes aeroportuários à luz da noção de knowing-in-practice. O método foi construído com base em técnicas etnográficas, como observação participante, entrevistas informais e pesquisas em arquivo. A compreensão dos saberes foi oportunizada pelas observações em campo ao atentar para o corpo de conhecimentos requeridos no trabalho; a exigência de qualificação em seu exercício; e seu papel na inserção dos novos agentes em atuação.
