Resumo: The natural resoucers depletion situation, the water, air and ground contamination have made the life quality level of the populations go down. This scenery has put the public managers in alert status and starts a search for solutions. In this way many actions have been put in practice in order to change he situation. Ins this article, the identification and systematization of the procedures and actions that the public agencies and managers have used, together with other solutions based on the sustainability theory have pointed the way to a sustainable management.

Nesse sentido, inúmeras ações têm sido experimentadas, buscando, cada qual a sua maneira, novas formas de gerenciar os serviços públicos.
