Resumo: This study focuses on the ethical and social commitment in nursing education and its impact on the development of the teaching plan, with the viewpoint that this theoretical reflection can contribute to awaken the interrelationship of the teaching plan and ethical and social commitment in college-level courses. It is assumed that the concept of ethics adapts to the values relative to each time and place, being considered an essential element for the comprehensive education of human beings. In order for education to be anchored in actions in accordance with social, ethical and professional commitment, ethical principles should permeate the curriculum content, and be present in teaching positions that involve interpersonal relationships and evaluation procedures.
