The paper demonstrate, using data from Censo 2010 that, from the Occupational Brazilian Classification (CBO) is possible identify “social workers” with the most different profiles, as techniques as with high education, all of them using the same occupational reference.O artigo discute a utilização da denominação “assistentes sociais” como forma de designação dos trabalhadores da assistência social, para além daqueles formados nos cursos de serviço social.
